With over 20 years training and experience, Dr. Sick is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, lyricist and musical director currently based in New Orleans, LA. His eclectic original songs can currently be heard with his latest outfit, This Stunted Sextette. He also leads Dr. Sick & the Late Greats, applying traditional New Orleans styles on non traditional songs, ranging from Screamin' Jay Hawkins to Andrew Bird. He's also the music director with 999 EYES Freak Show and Surreal Side Show, and a member of several bands from New Orleans, Austin, Houston and New York. Though percussion, brass, and novelty instruments can often be heard at the hands of Dr. Sick, his string playing is his trademark. When asked if he's playing "violin or fiddle?", he responds "viol-iddle", to point out that the instruments are identical, and the style of the song makes the difference. His first touring band was PoDank String Band, a speedy tattooed bluegrass combo that stole him away from New Orleans in 2004. He later joined the notorious Asylum Street Spankers for Austin, TX. It was this band that enabled his writing, arranging and singing lead parts for 3 years. With them he played in 40+ states and 3 countries. After leaving the Spankers, he formed his own project, Sick's Pack, releasing his first full length album "Thrash Folk".
